This Week in Workouts, and special event Wednesday!

Good morning runners!
Hope you are recovered from your weekend runs, and looking forward to another great week of workouts with the Lander Running Club. Last week, Amber and I tried to cancel the Wednesday workout at the last minute because of concerns for slippery track conditions. We thought we better go to the track anyway and make sure no one showed up with the last minute notice, and 7 people were already cruising around the track waiting to kick off the workout! Luckily, it hadn't gotten too slippery yet, and we got a great workout in after all. Apologies to anyone that stayed home and missed it because of our cancellation!

This week there is an exciting event being hosted at Elemental Fitness and Performance on Wednesday evening at 7pm- a FREE seminar by Steve Bechtel and Lee Brown, Strength Training for Endurance Athletes.

It promises to be fun and informative, and to give people time to make it, we are moving this week's Workout Wednesday up 30 minutes to 6:00 pm. 

Just to stoke the fire a little bit, I wanted to let people know they should watch for a new event this March in Lander... it might even be a new race.... details will come as things develop.

Saturday Trail Run along the Red Canyon Rim
On to this week's deets:

Workout Wednesday
Seeing that we have some more weather on the way, I'm going to go ahead and schedule us for another exciting hill run! We will meet at 6:00 in the middle school/swimming pool parking lot on 9th street. We will do a short warmup run as a group, and run hill repeats on Garner Drive, 10 x 45 sec run with 90 sec rest (If you're running late and miss our parking lot rendezvous, just meet us at the hill!). A workout like this is great for building strength and economy, and will benefit anyone wanting to move a little faster, whether that is horizontally or vertically. Bring a headlamp if you have one, and always feel free to bring a friend. 

Saturday Trail Run
This Saturday we will run at Johnny Behind the Rocks. If you don't know what that is or need directions, please check out the Runner Resources for more details. Let's meet at the trailhead at 8 am again, but if you would like to carpool, we can meet in the front parking lot for the Best Western/Wild Flour Bakery at 7:40 (hitting the road by 7:45). Everyone is welcome, and there are plenty of trail options for shorter or longer loops. Could be snowy!
