|The Lander Pride Picnic and Fun Run is Sunday, June 22nd!|
Well how about this chilly weather! No matter, we'll take the air conditioned break from our normally very warm summer and run with it (Yep, pun intended. How do I get so funny?!).
Thanks to all of you for making last Thursday's full moon run at Johnny Behind the Rocks a total blast. There were plenty of laughs and stories shared and although the full moon only lit our way for the first 3rd or so of the approximately 5 mile run before it was lost behind ominous dark clouds, I think it's safe to say no one regretted coming out! The incoming rainstorm and gusts of cool wind felt (I never thought I'd say this, but) awesome.
It sounds like the weekend's races went well for folks! Nice job getting out there and crushing. We heard the Yellowstone Half went well and Evan and I made it over to the Fast and the Furriest 5k, which was also awesome. The race directors had to postpone the start to get everyone registered who had shown up to race! We love seeing these community events be such a success!
On to this week's order of business:
Meet us at the LVHS track at 6:30, be sure you get a good warm-up in (at least 10 minutes of easy jogging) prior to jumping into the workout. If you're at the track doing laps at 6:30 for your warm-up, great! We won't go without you, just be sure you're taking care of yourself there and not skipping a warm-up!
For the workout, let's go 7, 6, then 5 minutes at T pace, with 1 minute rest in between each. We'll finish with 6 football field length strides on the grass.
Then of course, make sure you cool down! At least 10 to 15 minutes of easy jogging/running before settling into that comfy sofa for the evening.
Saturday Trail Run
This week, Evan and I will be in the Big Horns for his 100 mile race, so unfortunately, we're canceling the Saturday trail run. BUT....
Lander Pride Picnic and Fun Run, Sunday, June 22
Join us Sunday at noon at City Park dressed in your most colorful/goofy gear for a 4 mile group fun run. We know you have some amazing colorful costume items somewhere in that closet of yours (perhaps from those crazy college days??) that have just been waiting for their day in the sun. This is it! The run will end back at City Park, kicking off the Lander Pride Picnic. You're encouraged to bring a pot luck dish to contribute, and please do bring your own picnicking supplies (plate/fork/etc)!
That's all for now. Thanks for tuning in and we'll see ya'll very soon!
