Challenge for Charities Half Marathon News, Lander Ski-Swap, and Some T-Pace

Good evening, LRCers!

We're up to neat stuff these days.

We've got some exciting news (no, it's not the T-pace, though we know you love it): Lander Running Club recently contracted with the Lander Community Foundation to take over Race Directorship for the 2016 Challenge for Charities Fourth of July Half Marathon, 5k, and Kids' mile! We are super excited to be taking this on and happy to be giving the folks at the Community Foundation a little more breathing room to do the most important work - and that's to raise money for the local non-profits that participate in the Challenge for Charities proper. While we might be set on race committee membership for now (LRC members Anne Even, Marina Fleming, and Jenny Joyes will be helping us out), we will most certainly be looking for volunteers to lend a hand here and there as race day draws nearer. And certainly if you have a thought or idea that's occurred to you the times that you've participated in or spectated the race, please do share them.

Did Someone Say Ski Swap!?
The other exciting news item (probably more like public service announcement, because this is REALLY important) is that the Annual Lander Ski and Gear Swap is this Saturday, November 21st from 9am to 11am at the Lander Valley High School Commons. There will be a Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast served from 8:30-10:00 am, tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. In addition to shopping for great deals, you can bring in your old outdoor equipment and 30% of all consignment sales go to the Lander Youth Skiing. The LVHS ski team will be hanging out ready to wax your skis for $10 a pair. Contact Emily Tilden at 307-349-7370 or landerskicoach@gmail.com with questions.

Tuesday Track Workout
I know it, this is what you opened this letter/clicked on this link for all along. Meet at the LVHS track at 5:30pm for some T pace efforts. We're doing 4, 5, and 6 minutes at T pace. Make sure you get in a warm up before we start (as always, it's okay to still be warming up at 5:30, we know it's tight for most folks getting off of work).

To be cheesy, but serious for just a second, every week that you open this newsletter or view this blog or show up at the group run or the track, you make the Lander Running Community a little stronger. Thank you for your committment to this community and to yourself, we're lucky to have friends like you!

Cheers,

Amber and Evan
