Well, it's the week of Christmas...that sure snuck up on us.
But this also means that the Lander Running Club has been a thing for TWO WHOLE YEARS! Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us, happy... okay fine, I'll shut-up. But not until you see this hedgehog eating birthday cake and laugh at it:
Workout Cancelled - Monday Yoga for Athletes in the New Year!
Since most of you are already out of town and we are scrambling to get ourselves out of town as well, there will be no workout this week. We really apologize for canceling two weeks in a row, but before you tell us that's terrible, we're actually signing off until January 11th - that's a Monday. Yes, we'll be gone for that long, we only wish it was all to go on vacation.
We'll have one more outdoor workout the night of the 11th just to remind ourselves why we want to be inside doing yoga instead. After that, LRC and Ananda Yoga will be hosting Flow Yoga for Athletes Monday nights 7:30-8:30pm - that will replace the LRC workout for at least several weeks. If you're like Amber and need your arm twisted to cross train or do strength work, this will be great for you. Also, I can hear your minds working as we speak - don't worry you crazy gluttons for punishment, it will definitely still be challenging, so don't write us off because you think doing yoga means lying on the ground folded into a freakish pretzel. That's not what we're doing here. So please find comfort in our assurance that you will definitely feel this the next day. And by the same token, if you're feeling any anxiety about this or have questions, first of all, please don't have anxiety because no matter how many times you say you're inflexible or that you've never done yoga, chances are - you can do yoga. Take Amber for example: that girl's got hamstrings stiff as 2x4s and she's about to instruct you. But if you are worried, please do not hesitate to shoot us an email or give us a call. We'll be happy to talk you through all the reasons why yoga is in fact something that can be accessible to all body types and something that will help you grow as a runner.
Starting Monday, January 18th, Amber and Alyssa Rainbolt will start teaching a Flow Yoga for Athletes class from 7:30-8:30pm. The studio is letting us use the space at community rates (i.e. fees go to the studio for utilities - Amber and Alyssa teach for free), so that means you can drop in for $4 a pop, OR you can purchase a punch pass that will get you into ten community classes for $30. In case you don't know this - that's ridiculously cheap.
