WORKOUT WEDNESDAYS (LVHS track @ 5:30 unless otherwise noted)
May 11: It feels like 5k season, doesn't it? We better get ready. We'll do mid-interval accelerations, moving from I pace into R pace to simulate a surge in a race. It will
6 x (2 min I pace + 30 sec R pace + 3 min recovery)
May 18: Hills! You've missed them, I know. Meet at the track at 5:30 and we can jog over as a group to the Vance Dr. or Garner Dr. hill, (or meet us at their intersection with Cascade around 5:45-5:50)
10 x (30 sec hard uphill, 2 min recovery)
May 25: Fartlek-style I pace
Amber will be blowing the whistle (and maybe running at the same time) to signify alternating intervals of I pace (5k race pace) with recovery jogs/walks- the format is continuous running rather than our normal reset to the start line. It helps keep your paces honest :)
***Yoga for Athletes continues through May: Monday night at Ananda Yoga from 7:30 to 8:30. $4 to drop in or $3 if you buy a 10 punch pass. Mats are available at the studio. Doors lock at 7:30, please be on time. Come get your thigh burn on!
