Big News!

Hi folks,

It's been a while. Sorry about that! If you haven't heard, Amber and I just moved to Flagstaff, AZ for a job opportunity that was way too good to turn down. While we're excited to be here, it's also hard to move on and leave so many good friends and sense of community behind in Lander. We're calling it a "seeya later" instead of a good bye.

You might be asking yourself, "but what is happening to the Lander Running Club?!" And to that, I must respond:

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

(Dylan Thomas - Do not go gentle into that good night)

Okay, that actually had very little to do with LRC's future. The BIG NEWS is that Jenny and Gabe Joyes are going to be the new faces/coaches/CEOs of Lander Running Club, and it sounds like Emily Tilden might get involved too! It was an extended negotiation, and we've settled on selling the club and its trademarks for $1.5 million, retaining partial ownership of the company through a 20% share of stocks.

Just kidding. We're slowly transitioning all our materials and accounts and such to the Joyeses now. You'll see more news from them soon, including some exciting new directions for the club. Word on the street is that they might try to pull together a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot of sorts? I'll leave it to you all to hold them accountable. Thanks for all the great times, fun around town, support of our events, sweating, running in circles, and everything else. It's been great. And stay in touch!

Go fast and take chances,
Evan & Amber
